Pre Christmas 2012

This Christmas was awesome.  My parents and brother came to stay with us for a week and we packed it in. Here's a little peek on our Pre-Christmas activities.

Grandma Nancy brought a gingerbread house kit.  The kit involved mixing the dough, cutting out and baking the house, mixing the frosting, assembling the house, and decorating the final product.  As much as Liam enjoyed putting it all together, he enjoyed eating it even more.

On Christmas Eve we decided to brave the crowds at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis since admission was free.  The crowds weren't that bad and everyone had a great time.

After a Christmas Eve dinner of Tamales, Tortilla Soup, and Artichoke dip, the kiddos got in their Christmas jammies for a reading of the Christmas story.

Both Liam and Amelie were in delightful spirits as they anticipated what Santa might bring them.
(Is there anything cuter than watching your kids be affectionate with each other?)

My mom brought one of my favorite Christmas books (Tommie DePaola's telling of the Christmas story) and afterwards we attempted to act it out.  Unfortunately there are no pictures because it ended up being all of the adults acting while the kids laughed.

As per Spencer's family tradition, everyone got to open their ornaments for 2012.

Since it was our first Christmas Eve in our own home, it was very different from any past Christmas Eve's, but I think we started a few traditions we would like to continue.
