Snowdays

So far in the first 2 weeks 2015 Liam has had 4 snow days and a 2 hour delay.  Half of those were due to weather below zero with dangerous wind chills so we really stayed at home.  I planned ahead before the bad weather moved in so we were stocked with library books, food, and movies.  I like pretending that I can hibernate-which is what I really want to do all winter.

 We spent a lot of time in our pajamas and the kids played lots with Legos (they both wanted me to take pictures of their creations to send to the Lego magazine).  We had a really great Christmas break with Liam at home and it was nice to keep that momentum.  Amelie and Liam mostly played well together and that makes my job easier.

 Of course we watched Frozen, and of course Amelie had to dress up-and I even had time to practice my "Anna braids".

 The second snow and ice storm this past Sunday-Monday at least brought slightly warmer temps so Emmett could experience snow for the first time in his life.  

 Obviously, he was not a fan.  It's hard to stay up on your feet in a snowsuit and it's cold when you fall down.  He was happy to be outside when I was holding him.

 The phenomena of drifting snow is fairly new to me.  Certainly it happened with the occasional blizzard in CT, but in the Midwest it snows, we shovel, and 2 days later the wind has redistributed the snow and we get to shovel it all over again.  This leaves parts of our yard with deep snow and parts with almost nothing.

 By the 4th snow day we were all happy to get outside and play!

The poor, 3rd child is so neglected he has to fend for himself when it comes to snacks  self sufficient he finds himself a snack when he gets hungry.
