- He took two steps by himself a few days before his birthday and has only repeated it a few times since. He is cautious about walking and so he will stand by himself and get ready to take a step and then decide to sit down and crawl. He'll get it soon, I'm sure.
- He is a master communicator although the only words he says are "dada", "mama", and "mo" for more. He signs eat, drink, more, and all done, and in conjunction with pointing and waving he can get his point across pretty well. For example, pointing to the door and waving bye-bye means "Take me outside" or "I want someone else to hold me now". Pointing a me, pointing at food and singing eat means "mama, give me that food now! No not that food, the other food."
- He is so good natured and easy going unless he has a strong opinion (which has been happening more and more lately). He understands no and will shake his head when we tell him no. He even shakes his head no before we do if he's about to do something he knows he shouldn't. It still doesn't stop him from doing it all the time, but he should get some credit for trying.
- He is incredibly curious and busy, which keeps me busy too. He has a knack for finding anything unsafe in any room.
- He is very aware of others emotions. He cries any time another baby or child is crying and he laughs whenever he hears anyone else laughing.
- He loves any balls, animals, and clocks that chime.
He is the best little boy and we are so glad to have him as part of our family!

He is so sweet!! Congratulations, Liam - and parents too!
What a cute little guy! It must be so nice to be close enough to your family to make quick trips. Speaking of trips, Matt is headed out to DC for an interview. If we accept an offer I will let you know.
Congratulations, Liam! I can't believe you're a big one-year-old already. It's fun to read about all of Liam's milestones--thanks for sharing.
