Another Two Year Old

Happy Birthday to Emmett!  I CANNOT believe this guy is 2 already.  Where did the last 2 years go?  This guy is busy.  He does.not.stop.  But oh boy, can his smile melt the stoniest heart (and it's a good thing too because he is trouble).

 Does this look familiar? That's because Liam had a basketball cake for his 2nd birthday too.

 I think he had a pretty smashing birthday for a 2 year old third child.

Some things about Emmett at age 2:

• Emmett loves balls (just like his big brother).  Football is maybe his favorite right now, but he loves basketball too. Or any kind of ball.
• Emmett loves trucks-especially fire trucks and the way he says firetruck is by making a siren noise.
• Emmett doesn't say many words but he is an excellent communicator.  He knows several signs and he uses sound effects, gesturing, or just getting it and giving it to you to let you know what he wants.  We're working on the talking part.
• We call Emmett the "2 minute tornado" for good reason, because he has an uncanny ability to make the maximum mess with minimum effort.  He dumps a bucket and then spreads the toys across the floor with his hands.  He swipes his arm across the counter knocking every last thing on the floor and then kicks things across the floor.  
• He loves to climb and climbs everything.  Even if he falls off, he starts climbing again.
• He doesn't like when I sing to him at bedtime, so I started talking about the things we did that day and it has become both of our favorite part of the day.  He says "yahk" for talk and then he fills in the story using words and signs he knows and smiling at things I remind him about.  
• He loves to bother Amelie-he pulls hair, he takes her toys, etc.  But he can also be very sweet and he loves to dance with her.
• He is the most affectionate toddler, full of hugs and kisses for everyone.
• His favorite thing to play with is his baby.  Actually, it's Amelie's Bitty Baby (which was mine 25 years ago) and they fight over her like nothing else.  So, for his birthday we found a baby that is a similar size to Bitty Baby and he loves taking care of his baby.  He makes sure his baby has a blankie or milk and takes his baby everywhere.  If given a chance, he still steals Bitty though.
• My favorite thing he says is the word Lollipop = bala with extra sticking out his tongue like he's licking a lollipop. 
• Emmett is the sweetest, busiest, and happiest 2 year old around. He is exhausting and we love him like crazy!
