Welcome Liam!

This was me last Saturday, "38 weeks" pregnant.


And this was me on Monday! Our baby boy, Liam, was born on May 18 at about 5 PM.
My due date was supposed to be May 19, but after the first
ultrasound, the doctor changed the date to May 29 because the baby was small. Liam was 7 lbs 8 oz and 21" long, so we figure that maybe May 19 was closer to the correct date.


We were very surprised to see that our little boy
has some red hair! Aren't genetics funny? We always thought he would have either blond or brown hair, so when the doctor said she thought he looked red, it was unexpected. His hair is so gorgeous though and we love that it's strawberry blond. We think he has Spencer's nose and my mouth and chin.
The birth went very well and was a special experience for all of us (well, maybe Liam didn't like it too much). I'll spare you the details, but no horror stories here. We stayed in the hospital until Wednesday morning and fortunately my mom flew in Wednesday afternoon, so we didn't have to last too long without help.
Liam has excellent timing! We very much appreciate all the help we've been receiving because
babies certainly do keep you very busy.
Here Liam is with each of his Grandmas. We are so thrilled to have him in our home and we love him more each day. We feel wonderfully blessed to add another member to our family, especially such a sweet little one. We'll give plenty of updates in the days and weeks ahead. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!
